This Privacy Policy explains how Joip (“Joip,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Joip subscription service available at https://joip.io and any related apps, services, or communications (collectively, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.



1 - What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to personal information we process when you:

  • Visit joip.io or our apps,

  • Create or use a Joip account,

  • Subscribe to and use the Service,

  • Communicate with us (email, support, social media).

This policy does not apply to third-party sites or services that link to or integrate with Joip.


2 - Information We Collect

We collect and process information in these categories:

  • Account & Contact Information: name, username, email address, password, profile details.

  • Subscription & Billing Information: plan details, transaction history, and limited billing information (processed by our payment processor). We do not store full payment card numbers.

  • Usage & Device Data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, language, referring/exit pages, and timestamps; in-app events and feature usage to help operate and improve the Service.

  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: as described in the Cookies section below.

  • Support & Communications: messages, feedback, and support requests.

Where required by law, we will seek your consent before collecting certain data.


3 - How We Use Information (Purposes & Legal Bases)

We use information to:

  • Provide the Service and fulfill our contract with you (account creation, authentication, delivering features, customer support).

  • Process subscriptions and payments (via third-party payment processors).

  • Maintain, secure, and improve the Service (debugging, analytics, preventing abuse).

  • Communicate with you (transactional emails, service notices, updates).

  • Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, fraud prevention).

  • With consent (where required), for optional features or communications.

Legal bases under GDPR/UK GDPR: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving the Service), consent (where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations.


4 - Payments & Subscription Management

We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, or similar) to process payments. Those processors collect and process payment information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We receive limited billing data (e.g., last 4 digits, card brand, tokenized identifiers, transaction dates/amounts) to keep your subscription working and for records.


5 - Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies to run core site functions (e.g., sign-in, session management).

  • Analytics cookies to understand usage and improve the Service.

  • Preference cookies to remember your settings.

You can manage cookies via your browser settings. If you block certain cookies, parts of the Service may not function properly. We currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.


6 - When We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Service Providers/Sub-processors who help us operate (hosting, storage, analytics, email, payments, support). They may access information only to perform services for us and must protect it.

  • Legal & Safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Joip, our users, or the public.

  • Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, we may transfer information as part of that transaction.

We do not sell personal information.


7 - Data Retention

  • Account Data & User Media: retained while your account is active. If you delete an asset or close your account, we begin deletion from active systems, typically within 30 days, with residual copies in backups generally removed within 90 days (time frames may vary due to technical or legal constraints).

  • Transaction Records & Legal Holds: we may retain certain records as required by law (e.g., tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution).


8 - Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest for stored data. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a security incident that affects you, we will notify you as required by law.


9 - International Data Transfers

If you access the Service from outside the country where our systems or providers are located, your information may be transferred internationally. When we transfer personal data from the EEA/UK/Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

Joip does not sell personal information. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

11 - Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed or meant for children or individuals under the age of 18. All users who create an account on or use the app must verify their age and consent upon sign up.


12 - Third-Party Links & Integrations

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for those third parties.


13 - Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on joip.io (and/or notified to you by email or in-app). Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
